The Wedeco quartz sleeve is essential for ultraviolet water purification systems, serving as a protective and functional accessory for Wedeco UV lamps. Made from high-quality quartz, it enhances the system’s effectiveness with its durability and optical transparency, which are key for UV sterilization performance. Quartz is chosen for its resistance to thermal shock and minimal thermal expansion, allowing it to withstand varying water temperatures without damage. Its optical clarity ensures the efficient passage of UV light, important for effective water sterilization.
Over time, however, the sleeve can cloud due to mineral accumulation or other contaminants, obstructing UV light transmission. To preserve system efficiency, it is advisable to clean the sleeve every 3 to 6 months, depending on the water’s quality and system usage. Cleaning implies removing the sleeve, applying a suitable detergent to break down deposits, and then rinsing it thoroughly with clean water to eliminate any residue.
The sleeve, measuring 560 mm in length and 25 mm in diameter with one open end, fits securely over compatible UV lamps (NRL 1845), providing optimal positioning and protection against water exposure. Safety measures are crucial when handling the quartz sleeve. Always turn off the control unit before installation or removal to avoid electrical hazards and lamp damage. Once the sleeve is cleaned and repositioned, reactivate the control unit.
It is also essential to avoid direct eye exposure to the UV light when the lamp is operational to prevent eye harm.
Following these maintenance and safety guidelines will help extend the life and maintain the efficiency of the UV purification system.
