The valve features quick-connect clips that simplify both installation and maintenance processes, allowing for easy setup and servicing. The model 230 valve employs dual pistons to direct water flow, with piston positioning determining the valve’s operational phase as per the flow diagrams provided.
The valve can adopt four distinct positions corresponding to various service phases: service, backwash, slow rinse/suction, and fast rinse. Pistons in the valve are activated by a pressurized fluid, which is supplied to the pilot chambers through specific flow diverters (termed ‘pilots’) driven by a rotating cam. The type of cam and its rotation style are chosen based on the controller used, tailored to the specific plant application needs.
For actuation, the valve can utilize either filtered water or compressed filtered air. If water is used as the control fluid, it can be drawn from the plant’s inlet. However, for continuous flow applications such as in duplex systems, it is recommended to source the water from a separate distribution line to ensure consistent supply pressure.
