Xylem diffusers Silver Series II
The 9-inch fine bubble disc diffusers from the Silver Series II are designed to provide efficient oxygen transfer and long-lasting durability, making them ideal for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment applications. These threaded diffusers feature a robust EPDM membrane, known for its resilience and optimized performance over extended periods. The diffuser’s body, made from polypropylene, integrates a support plate for the membrane, ensuring uniform distribution of fine bubbles across its surface. This design not only enhances oxygen transfer but also minimizes energy consumption during both continuous and intermittent operations.
Thanks to the advanced EPDM formulation, the membrane resists stretching and tearing, significantly outlasting traditional EPDM materials, with more than double the operational lifespan. It is also resistant to oils, ultraviolet light, and harsh environmental conditions typically found in wastewater treatment. The precision-perforated membrane, with nearly 5,000 tiny holes, guarantees consistent airflow while preventing backflow when the air supply stops, thanks to its built-in check valve. The diffuser is further improved with a triple-thread locking ring, providing secure and stable installation while reducing stress on individual threads.
With a diameter of 270 mm and a depth of installation reaching up to 9 meters, the Silver Series II diffuser is capable of handling airflow rates between 0.85 to 6.5 Nm³/h. It operates efficiently within a wide temperature range, from 0°C to 80°C, making it suitable for a variety of treatment environments. Its easy installation, using a ¾” NPT threaded connection, ensures reliable attachment to the system, whether on metal or plastic pipes.
This diffuser offers an innovative solution for applications such as aeration tanks, sludge stabilization, sequencing batch reactors, and membrane bioreactors, providing exceptional oxygen transfer performance and long-term reliability in wastewater treatment systems.
